The Bachelor of Music (BM) program at Manhattan School of Music prepares students to be leaders in the arts.
The four-year Undergraduate program at MSM is designed for students with a high-school diploma who wish to study Composition, Instrumental Performance, Jazz (excluding Jazz Voice and Jazz Composition), Musical Theatre and Voice.
The program offers the aspiring professional musician rigorous curricula in performance or composition and consists of four areas of concentration:
- Major field of study
- Course work in music-related subjects
- Ensemble performance
- Humanities
The Bachelor of Music curriculum at MSM embraces not only the traditional conservatory subjects such as music history and music theory, but also an intensive humanities core, with an emphasis on literature, history, and expository writing.
Students learn to become complete artists, and arts leaders, with a deep knowledge of the world, and themselves.
Please note: The conservatory is not for beginning students on any instruments.
